Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Chapters
All 14 Chapters
How many chapters Resonance has, what they are called, and how the subchapter structure lets you replay a single section.
Info checked · September 5, 2026
Short answer: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has 14 chapters, and each one is divided into subchapters that can be replayed individually. Chapter 14, What Remains, is an epilogue with a single subchapter, so Chapter 13 is the last full chapter of the game. Two independent outlets list the same 14 titles, but no official chapter list has been published, so we treat the breakdown as aggregated reporting.
All 14 chapters
| # | Chapter | # | Chapter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Blood Ties | 8 | Resonance |
| 2 | Felons | 9 | Night Has Come |
| 3 | Those Before Us | 10 | Parallel Paths |
| 4 | From Hell It Rose | 11 | Patera |
| 5 | Desolation It Wrought | 12 | Fading Light |
| 6 | What Lies Beneath | 13 | As One |
| 7 | Death It Sowed | 14 | What Remains (epilogue) |
Chapters 4 to 7 form a run of titles — From Hell It Rose, Desolation It Wrought, Death It Sowed — that reads as a single quoted line broken across three chapters. Read the list as a progression rather than as a set of independent levels.

What the subchapter structure is for
Subchapters are checkpoints you can return to. Because the game divides each chapter into named segments, you can replay a specific section — a puzzle, an arena, a stretch you rushed — without replaying the whole chapter around it.
That matters most for cleanup runs. Collectibles are organised per chapter, so the subchapter names are the practical index for finding the one you missed. Per-chapter collectible totals are to be confirmed; we are not publishing counts we have not checked.
Reading your progress from the list
The chapter names give you a rough position without spoiling much. Chapter 8 shares its name with the game, which usually marks a central turn rather than an ending. Chapters 10 and 13 — Parallel Paths and As One — point at the dual-timeline structure converging, and Chapter 13's subchapters end on The Labyrinth and The Minotaur, which is where the island's central image finally lands.
Chapter 14 is a single subchapter called Ashes. If you are checking whether you are nearly finished, the honest answer is that finishing Chapter 13 means finishing the game's last full chapter.
Which chapters look puzzle-heavy
You can read the puzzle load from the subchapter names, with the caveat that this is inference from titles rather than confirmed design. Chapter 4 contains Puzzles and Traps, Chapter 5 has The Four Symbols, Chapter 6 runs through Minoan Machinery and The Architect, Chapter 11 ends a sequence with The Last Lens, and Chapter 13 opens on The Labyrinth and Illusions.
That clusters the light-and-mechanism problems in the middle and late game, which matches the sphere being something Sophia acquires on the island rather than starts with. If you are the kind of player who wants to know when the pace changes, those are the chapters to expect it in.
Using this list for a collectible run
- Finish the story first — subchapter replay exists precisely so you do not have to hold everything at once.
- Pick the chapter you want to clean up and open its subchapter list above.
- Replay the specific subchapter rather than the chapter, which is the whole point of the split.
- Track what you have found per chapter; the community has already built a chapter 1-14 progress panel as a PC mod, which tells you the per-chapter organisation is real.
How long each chapter takes
To be confirmed. We have no verified per-chapter timings and no verified total completion time, and we are not going to convert someone's stream length into a table. When we have figures we can stand behind, they will appear here with the source attached.
What the structure does tell you is that chapter length is uneven: Chapter 11 lists six subchapters, Chapter 14 lists one. Expect the middle of the game to be considerably heavier than either end.
Spoiler policy on this page
Chapter and subchapter titles are published, because that is what makes the list useful for navigation and cleanup. What we deliberately do not print is what happens inside them — no character fates, no boss descriptions, no story summaries.
A few titles are unavoidably suggestive. If you want to stay completely clean, use the chapter numbers alone and stop reading at the table above.
Where this list comes from
IGN's walkthrough index and Game Rant's chapter listing independently give the same 14 chapter titles, and Game Rant adds the subchapter breakdown reproduced here. Two sources agreeing is good evidence for the chapter count, and a third data point supports it indirectly: a community collectible tracker built for the PC version presents a chapter 1-14 progress panel.
It is not the same as an official list. Asobo and Focus have not published a chapter index that we could check, so this page is marked Aggregated rather than Official, and the official confirmation stays to be confirmed. If a patch adds or renames content, this page will lag until we recheck it.
